The world of paving has gone through the gears over the past ten years or so. I remember a time when Indian Sandstone paving came in crates simply nailed together with very little ‘packaging’.
Nowadays its more refined, crates are better made in general and the precious stones are protected with colourful polythene hoods to ensure that the goods arrive in perfect condition.
In those ‘olden’ days the paving was anything from 25mm up to 50mm and sometimes like that across one slab! The joints were filled with traditional mortar or the earliest of jointing compounds.
Jointing compounds, like the paving have undergone change. Paving is thinner and compounds have improved dramatically. EASYJoint was the first jointing compound in the UK which was truly an all-weather product. It took the paving world by storm and is still doing so ten years on!
Time moves on, and now we see that tiles once meant for indoor use only have made their way outside. Porcelain or Vitrified paving as its sometimes called, is a mainstream product in many landscaping centres across the country. With this ‘new’ paving come new laying practices and rules.
To keep up with these changing times, Azpects have developed two new products aimed squarely at the ‘new’ paving market.
EASYGrout - A cementitious slurry grout which is easy to apply and leaves a smooth, contemporary finish which is impermeable and frost-hardy.
Available in three colours – light grey, dark grey and natural – to complement all porcelain and natural paving types and colours.
The recognisable EASYJoint style tubs come with three 5kg bags inside which makes mixing easier and also means less waste.
EASYPrime - A polymer-modified cement-based primer which when applied to the back of Porcelain or other paving types, adds increased adhesion to the bedding mortar. These new products are due for launch in March this year and we have already had plenty of interest from our customers.
