You may remember our EASYGrid driveway installation video from 2017 where we transformed a regular grass lawn into a grass gridded driveway for vehicles.
In the video, we excavated the ground, firstly covering the excavated area with a geotextile before graded crushed stone was added and compacted using a heavy roller. A further geotextile layer was added for the grid to sit on top. The grid was installed, filled with soil and seeded.
The geotextile layers help to keep different sub-layers apart, preventing the sub-layers from mixing together over time. This helps to maintain the structural stability of the base. EASYGrid is compressively strong but is only as strong as the base it sits on. The base prevents the Grid from sinking into the soil.
The whole process including labour, materials and waste removal cost less than £2000 for 50 square metres of driveway (excellent value for a drive capable of housing six vehicles).
