We are approaching that time in the year where we consistently get hotter days. This is our advice for working in hot weather.
Jointing Compounds and Paving Grouts - Tips for hot weather use
EASYJoint is applied using water but when the weather is hot, porous paving such as sandstone will dry quickly, it is important to keep topping up your working area to make sure it remains as wet as possible. You can keep a hose running across the paving to make sure it remains wet. Always remember to wash the paving down after installation, removing any remaining grains of sand which may remain sitting on top of the paving slabs.

Sealers - Tips for hot weather use
In hot weather sealers can dry out on your paving very quickly which will lead to problems. In hot conditions, paving can get significantly hotter than the outdoor temperature, it maybe 25c outside but the paving can reach temperatures of 40c. We strongly recommend using our sealers in cooler conditions when the paving is cool to touch. This will help to avoid a situation where the paving dries out too quickly.
Another tip is to have two people working in a pair to ensure the second coat is applied before the first coat has dried out. The second coat must be applied ‘wet on wet’.
