We are fast approaching the busiest time of the year for paving installations, meaning a lot EASYJoint applications across the country and around the world. As manufacturers of the product, here are our top tips for getting the best out of your EASYJoint this summer.
EASYJoint is a permeable product and so water needs to be able to drain through the base and away, make sure your base is permeable, with a 6:1 mix or weaker, many people prefer stronger base mixes but these can lead to drainage issues later with or without EASYJoint.
Seal sensitive paving before EASYJoint installation
Allow the sealer two to three days before then applying EASYJoint
We recommend sealing paving before EASYJoint application when using sensitive stones such as Granite, Slate, Modak or Black Limestone

Use plenty of water during application - The wetter the better!
Porous paving especially sandstone will dry quickly in hot weather so it's very important to keep your working area very wet, making sure you regularly soak the paving during hot spells. A top tip is to empty the contents of the bag into the tub and then add water. This 'slurry' will flow and fall much easier, keeping the paving area wetter.
You can reuse unused EASYJoint by placing it back in the tub and submerging it by at least 50mm
Did you know? We have recently had a case where someone reused EASYJoint after 6 years of storage, the water wasn't pleasant as you may imagine but the EASYJoint worked just as it would do when new.
