Summer is in full swing in the UK and it looks set to be a record breaking June on the temperature front. These are our tips for using EASYJoint and EASYSeal in hot weather

EASYJoint - Tips for hot weather use

EASYJoint is applied using water but when the weather is hot, porous paving in particular such as sandstone will dry quickly so it's very important to keep your working area as wet as possible, making sure you regularly soak the paving, you can even keep a hose running across the paving to make sure it remains wet.

A top tip is to empty the contents of the EASYJoint bag into the tub itself and then saturate it in water. This 'slurry' will flow and fall much easier.

EASYSeal - Tips for hot weather use

In hot conditions sealers can, if you’re not careful, dry out on your paving very quickly and you may not get the chance to seal your paving properly. In hot conditions, paving can get signicantly hotter than the outdoor temperature, it maybe 25c outside as an example but the paving could reach temperatures of 40c. We therefore recommend using our sealers in cooler conditions at the start or end of the day, to avoid a situation where the paving dries out too quickly.

To help to mitigate this situation we would recommend having two people working at a time for speed of application and to ensure that the first coat doesn’t dry out before the second one is applied (wet on wet).
