February’s product of the month is Water defence. Every month we will highlight one of our products and give you a little more information about it, why we decided to introduce it to our range, what is so good about it and why we think more people should be using it.
Water Defence has been designed to repel water from porous brickwork, masonry and timber whilst still allowing it to ‘breathe’. It has an invisible coating and can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces. The other amazing claim is that it can increase the thermal qualities of your home!
Water defence has been available to buy, in ready to use 5 litre bottles, for about a year now. We introduced it to our range because we identified there was problem with existing sealers that ‘lock in’ moisture rather than repelling it. By driving moisture out of walls it enables the thermal qualities to improve. Dry walls and masonry also mean algae, moss and fungal growth struggle to take hold, therefore improving the appearance of the treated area and also resisting damage.
It works because the active molecules within our product are smaller than water molecules, this enables them to displace the water and because Water Defence behaves like a one way road, allows the moisture to come out but not back in, clever!
